About the Faculty
The modern department of Theory of Economics and Logistics of Brest State Technical University was founded on the basis of the Department of Political Economy of the Brest Civil Engineering Institute. In 1979 the Department of Political Economy was separated into from the Department of Philosophy and Political Economy and existed as an independent administrative unit.
In 1989 the Brest Civil Engineering Institute was renamed as the Brest Polytechnic Institute. In 1993 the Department of Political Economy was included in the Department of Socio-Political and Economic Sciences as an autonomous division of Economic Sciences.
September 1, 1997 on the basis of this division the Department of Economic Theory was created.
The founder of the Department of Political Economy and the first Head from 1979 to 1984 was Bolbas Maxim Fedorovich, PhD of economic sciences, Professor.
From 1984 to 1994 the Head of the Department was Bakharev Viktoriy Afanasyevich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.
From 1994 to 2002 the Head of the Department was Grigorchuk Ivan Sidorovich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.
From 2002 to the present time the Head of the department is Omelyanyuk Alexander Mikhailovich, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor.
In 2012, at the department the specialty "Logistics" was opened, and in September 2013 there was the first intake of students in this specialty. Due to this, the department was renamed the Department of Economic Theory and Logistics (ETL) on September 1, 2014.
Currently at the department 1 Doctor of Economic Sciences Solodovnikov Sergey Yuryevich and 3 Candidates of Economic Sciences, Associate Professors work: Zakharchenko Lyudmila Anatolyevna, Medvedev Gulnara Borangalievna and Omelyanyuk Alexander Mikhailovich. At the department senior lecturers Tomasheva Elena Vladimirovna, Smetiukh Alexander Viktorovich, Pocko Elena Olegovna, Avdosenko Svetlana Nikolaevna, Vakulich Natalia Alexandrovna, Nebeluk Viktoria Vadimovna, Assistant Tishin Yuri Alexandrovich work.
