Students from Brest State Technical University (BrSTU) participated in the 4th Russian-Belarusian Student Media Forum, "Media Industry." Bringing together young journalists, photographers, and designers from Russia, Belarus, and Kyrgyzstan, this year’s event was held under the motto "Voices of the Youth: The Energy of Unity."
As part of the forum, the results of the "Media Industry" International Student Media Contest—themed "The Meanings That Unite Us: The Cultural Code of Russia and Belarus"—were announced.
The scale of the contest was impressive: 80 entries were submitted, and participants dedicated hundreds of hours to creating works that reflected the shared history, traditions, and values of the two fraternal nations. Projects were evaluated across five key categories: Media Project, Photography, Text, Video, and Design.
The final results were as follows:
- Media Project — Viktoria Ezhkova (TvSU);
- Photography — Student Council Team (BrSTU);
- Text — Ariana Lanina (Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno);
- Video — Vladislava Pavenko, Viktoria Dymshakova, Maksim Burov (SUSU);
- Design — Ekaterina Bugrova (SSLA).
A special prize for the best series of vertical videos was awarded to the "RiSOvarka" group from Pskov State University.
The awards ceremony took place on October 1.
However, the success of the BrSTU team was not limited to individual victories. Following the forum's packed program, our students were selected to join joint mixed teams. Working in teams, the students collaborated on a joint media project in real time, exchanged techniques with peers from other regions, and gained hands-on experience with the workflows of modern newsrooms.
Our students secured two top spots as part of their teams:
1st place – Sofya Pekun, Faculty of Electronic and Information Systems;
3rd place – Darya Larionets, Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Congratulations to the BrSTU team on their well-deserved awards; we wish them continued creative success!
