On April 18, the final stage of the International Student Startup Competition “Business Generation – 2024”, organized by the Department of Management, took place. This time, teams of competitors represented 13 higher educational institutions from 3 countries - Belarus, Turkmenistan and Russia.
The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Brest State Technical University N.N. Shalobyta delivered a welcoming speech.
The competition not only involves young people in the startup movement, promotes the integration of generations in the search for innovative, promising ideas, but also allows you to find potential investors for their implementation. To achieve the set goals, representatives of the real sector of the economy and major players in the business sector of the Brest region were invited to join the organizing committee of the Competition.
Participants presented 20 startup projects, the ideas of which related to the current lives of students, innovative areas of business and social development (from “traditional” tourism services, education, industrial production, to high-tech ones that solve problems of health, resource conservation, and ecology).
The students’ discussion of creative author’s project ideas should be especially noted, for it differs significantly from the formal “questions and answers” ​​mode. Sparkling eyes, sharp, “uncomfortable” questions while maintaining a regime of goodwill and mutual politeness - this is the atmosphere that is present every year during this event. The startup format is a promising, lively form of presenting student creative ideas and allows us to highlight the most promising
of them, involving participants from a variety of specialties and courses into its orbit. The main goal of the competition is to create a networking platform to identify and support talented students who are able to solve problems in the social sphere, various areas of business and economics, and, as experience shows, the competition successfully copes with this task.
