On September 13, Brest State Technical University hosted the Information Day "Library information resources: quality at the service of knowledge", dedicated to the Day of Libraries.

Various activities were organized as part of the event:

Round table "The role of libraries in the modern world"
The event brought together students, teachers, and librarians.
In the format of an open dialogue, the participants discussed current issues about the role of libraries in the modern world, shared their work experience and promising areas of development.
Mikhail Vladimirovich Neroda, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of BrSTU, addressed the participants of the round table with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the significant role of libraries in the educational process and the formation of the personality of the young generation.
The moderator of the round table, Director of the BrSTU Library Yulia Vyacheslavovna Azarkevich, noted that in the era of digitalization and rapid development of information technology, it is libraries that are the source of high-quality and reliable information.
The discussion was attended by: Victoria Aleksandrovna Mikhailova (Brest Regional Library named after M. Gorky), Svetlana Ivanovna Kulik (Brest Regional Scientific and Technical Library branch of the Republican Scientific and Technical Library), Liliya Aleksandrovna Kulbachinskaya (branch of BrSTU Polytechnic College), Elena Ivanovna Gordievich BrSU named after A.S. Pushkin), Svetlana Aleksandrovna Chusovlyankina (BrSTU), Matvey Omelyashchik (BrSTU, group M-156).
During the round table, an online survey was conducted among students to find out their opinions on the most useful and interesting formats of the library's work.

Exhibition "The Most-Most... Book"
The exhibition featured rare and valuable publications from the collections of the BrSTU library, as well as books noted as the most beloved by the faculty and staff of the university. The exhibition allowed students to immerse themselves in the world of book history and get acquainted with unique publications.

Master class "Compiling a bibliographic list for term papers and diploma papers"
A practical lesson was organized for students on the use of various sources of information. During the lesson, students received valuable advice on the design of bibliographic records and compiling lists of literature in accordance with GOST requirements.

Initiation into readers and distribution of literature to first-year students
On this day, librarians ceremoniously presented first-year students with a library card and introduced them to the rich collection of the library, held games and competitions, and also distributed sets of textbooks according to the curriculum.

Information Day was a vibrant and educational event for all participants, confirming that the library is not just a repository of books, but also an important resource for learning, research, self-development and recreation.
