On January 27, the Holocaust Remembrance Day, the grand opening of the exhibition-monument "Genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War" took place at Brest State Technical University.

The exhibition is dedicated to the tragic events when the Belarusian people experienced terrible trials and losses. The exposition tells about the victims of genocide, their courage and fortitude in the face of the enemy.

The purpose of the exhibition is not only to convey the historical truth, perpetuate the memory of the dead, but also to remind society of the scale of the cruelty that the Belarusian people faced during the war.

The Rector of BrSTU Sergey Antonovich Kasperovich addressed the guests with a welcoming speech. He emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and passing on knowledge about the events of those years to future generations. Sergey Antonovich also noted that such events contribute to strengthening national unity and fostering patriotism.

“By opening such exhibitions, we strive to preserve and convey historical memory. It is important for us to convey the data that we receive during the investigation of this criminal case. Otherwise, it would not make any sense... And, you must agree, you and I must never forget, and we will always remember, the tragedy of the Belarusian people that our relatives had to endure, who died in order to exist now in our peaceful, prosperous Belarus,” emphasized in his speech the honorary guest of the event, the prosecutor of the city of Brest Andrey Cheslavovich Volodko.

The theatrical performance “Boy’s Dreams” performed by the literary and musical association “Native Language” added a special atmosphere to the event. At the end of the event, those present honored the memory with a minute of silence.
