Strengthening Family Values: Round Table at BrSTU

On May 15, a meeting dedicated to the celebration of Family Day was held at Brest State Technical University. The round table brought together experts and representatives of the public interested in strengthening family values ​​among students and employees of the university.

The following took part in the discussion:

  • Alla Antonovna Gerasimovich, Chief Specialist of the Civil Registry Office of the Brest City Executive Committee;
  • Ekaterina Valentinovna Selvisyuk, Educational Psychologist of the Social and Pedagogical Center of the Moscow District of Brest;
  • Leonid Simonchik, Archpriest, Cleric of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ;
  • Natalya Petrovna Yalovaya, Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work of BrSTU;
  • Denis Viktorovich Budnik, Head of the Department of Ideological and Educational Work of BrSTU.

Opening the meeting, Natalya Petrovna noted the importance of the family institution as the most important unit of society and the key to successful socialization of the younger generation.

Alla Gerasimovich introduced the audience to the features of the official procedure for concluding marriages, drawing up documents for the birth of a child and other legal nuances of family law. Based on personal experience, she cited striking cases from the practice of the Civil Registry Office, emphasizing the need to comply with formal rules in order to protect the rights of family members.

Ekaterina Selvisyuk covered in detail the psychological aspects of the interaction of spouses and parents with children. The specialist shared advice on overcoming conflicts, establishing trusting relationships and revealing the potential of emotional literacy. Students were given recommendations on creating a favorable atmosphere in the family, necessary for full personal growth.

Leonid Simonchik touched on the topic of the spiritual dimension of family relationships. The archpriest focused the audience's attention on the importance of traditional values, religious guidelines and moral duty to loved ones. According to the church representative, a strong family is built on sincere love, mutual respect and loyalty to each other.

The round table was an important event for the university community: it reminded about the need for a caring attitude towards the family, strengthening family ties and spiritual values. Such meetings help the younger generation to understand their role in preserving traditions and responsibility for the future of their family.
