As part of the national project "Student Bridge: Youth Mobility as a Tool for Developing Partnerships, Exchange of Ideas, and Innovations," a delegation from the Belarusian State University of Transport visited Brest State Technical University.
The project, initiated by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, aims to strengthen ties between the country's universities, exchange experiences, and create a platform for implementing best practices in student life.
The visit's program was rich and varied:
The official opening of the meeting began with a welcome address from BrSTU management and an introduction to the guests. A short video about the life and achievements of BrSTU, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, was prepared for the participants.
During a tour of the university, the guests were introduced to BrSTU's faculties, laboratories, and competence center. Particular attention was paid to the innovative developments and educational programs implemented at the university.
The key event of the day was the roundtable discussion "Student Initiatives." At the meeting, representatives of the student council, the volunteer movement, the BRSM Youth Union, and the BrSTU primary trade union shared their experiences in organizing student self-government and patriotic and social projects. The development of youth policy and student engagement in scientific and creative activities were discussed.
A festive concert dedicated to BrSTU's anniversary marked the end of the first day of the visit. BrSTU students presented creative performances, and an atmosphere of friendship and unity united all participants.
The next day, the delegation visited the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. The program included a flower-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame and tours of the fortress defense and war museums. As part of a creative workshop, students jointly created an art poster, "Brest - Gomel," reflecting the university symbols, the emotions of the trip, and the city's landmarks.
At the end of the visit, a debriefing took place, all participants received certificates, exchanged souvenirs, and, of course, took many group photos. Projects such as these not only contribute to students' professional growth but also strengthen friendly ties between the regions of Belarus.
BrSTU thanks the BSUT delegation for the visit and looks forward to further fruitful cooperation!
