As part of the national project "Student Bridge: Youth Mobility as a Tool for Developing Partnerships, Sharing Ideas, and Innovations," a delegation from Brest State Technical University paid a return visit to the Belarusian State University of Transport (BSUT).
The BrSTU delegation consisted of 16 students from all faculties, led by Denis Viktorovich Budnik, Head of the Department of Ideological and Educational Work.
The official part of the visit began with a warm welcome in the main building of BSUT. Vice-Rector for Ideological and Educational Work Natalia Kekish humorously noted the uniqueness of the host country—the only transport-focused university in the country. The guests were given a tour of the university's historic building and told about its rich heritage.
BrSTU students were able to not only admire the impressive architecture but also immerse themselves in the learning process through hands-on experience. A visit to BSUT laboratories was one of the highlights:
UAV Lab: Guests tried their hand at operating unmanned aerial vehicles.
Customs Lab: Students learned to search for hidden attachments using a baroscope and verify the authenticity of documents.
Transportation Control Center: A tour of the train dispatcher simulator was a real eye-opener for future engineers.
Cybersecurity and Architectural Design Labs: Students from similar majors engaged in an active exchange of experiences.
The highlight of the first day was the "We Ourselves" dialogue platform. In an informal setting, over a cup of tea and a loaf of bread, students from the two universities independently developed a plan for future collaboration. Their work resulted in specific agreements:
Creation of a joint online space (Telegram channel) for sharing news, achievements, and ideas. Joint intellectual and eSports tournaments will be held.
Organizing guest performances at creative competitions.
Filming joint videos to create a joint film.
A final tourist gathering will be held at the ecological bases of Brest or Gomel, planned to coincide with National Unity Day.
Following the visit, our students were given fascinating excursions around Gomel today, allowing them to learn about the history and culture of the city on the Sozh River.
We wish our students a rich experience, new friendships, and a productive exchange of experiences! The visit will continue tomorrow: the BrSTU delegation will enjoy even more joint activities, excursions, and, of course, warm interactions with the Gomel students!
